That does not look like treated lumber... is it? Does anyone know? I know this vid is like at least 8 years old....
They kept their shirts tucked in the entire time wow
Pirated Hometime.
I like the part where you put that woman to work!
Un trabajo impecable, todas estas cosas llevan mucho tiempo, pero también maestría,la verdad es que quedó muy bonito, eres un gran artista, enhorabuena.
What? Blocks directly laid on the dirt, which can soften up after rain and ruining the level of the block layer. Proper way would ve been to either lay some paverbase or concrete under the blocks and tamp it even.
I really miss these two!❤ Joanne made me feel confident as a woman tackling home improvement projects
That thing would withstand a 300mph wind. Enough lumber there to build 2 fences. Even with the price of lumber 8 years ago it seems a complete waste to me but it is a fine looking fence.

Man, I remember watching this as a kid. I’m 43 now and I’m a builder. I enjoyed watching the home improvements shows on pbs when I was a kid. Now we have cordless nailers
Second generation of DIY shows after This Old House. Hometime.
Is this a 1980s production? It sure looks like it. Quite good. Cool dame here. Very appealing.
The hardest part building that fence would be working alongside that goofy chick.
What is the that weight called hanging from the string when you're finding the post location?
Plumb bob
Somebody should go back to this fence to see how it's holding up
Let’s see a picture after 8 years 🤔
Mi pregunta es que tipo de pegamento usaste?
So, to summarize it in a simplified way, you scrape off a couple inches of dirt, then layer it with either Lyme stone or sand, make sure the sand is not dry and not too moist, make sure it's nice and flat with a pather or stomping it down with your shoes, and finally you can lay down your bricks.
wonderful video! thanks so much! can't wait to start on my fence
I never thought laying pavers would be so complicated. Wow.
holy cow! Takes me back to my childhood! haha yes I was the kid who used to watch hometime for fun. Miss these guys. Back when people watched TV to learn stuff. Now we have youtube lol. My how the world has changed.
Hello, I’d like to ask for your advice. I have a fence with 19 terminal posts in a straight line. The terminal posts are 2-3/8” inches and 6ft tall above the ground. They are embedded 24 inches down in concrete. Approximately 15 of these posts are not plumb. They are slightly not level. Approximately 5 degrees off. I have a top rail going. I have also a top rail bar that is tension banded between all of these posts. My worry is that over time the terminal posts will continue to tilt. Should I correct them now or is it not worth the effort? What kind of lifespan can I expect if they are going to continue to tilt? Thank you in advanced.
Gate posts should be how far apart?
Good old Dean Johnson's Hometime.. One of my favorites on PBS back in the day behind This Old House..
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
